EOI Space specializes in developing and deploying a network of satellites in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) to provide ultra-high-resolution Earth imagery. We aim to deliver timely and actionable data for commercial and defense applications.

EOI Space is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking executive to serve as our Chief Financial Officer.
What you will do:
The CFO will be a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team at our private, growth-oriented company, driving sustainable expansion, financial optimization, and long-term success as we scale engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and sales/support operations. Emphasis on fundraising, VC/investor relations, budgeting, and planning.
Responsibilities:
Lead fundraising (equity, debt, government); create investor materials (pitch decks, models, data rooms, cap tables); negotiate term sheets and structures for optimal terms
Cultivate relationships with aerospace VCs, institutional/strategic investors, and government funding sources
Serve as financial spokesperson for board meetings, updates, and due diligence; provide transparent reporting on KPIs, burn rate, milestones, and financial health
Partner with Board and investors on governance, BOD meetings, UWCs, equity actions, and strategic resolutions; deliver financial insights and risk assessments
Partner with CEO and executive team to align financial strategy with technical milestones via board-approved budgets, multi-year/rolling forecasts
Develop a financial model demonstrating profitability and ROI with scenario planning for extended runway, accelerated development, or scale-down options
Establish clear functional accountability and collaborate on resource allocation, variance monitoring, and corrective actions for fiscal discipline and growth
Evaluate investments/projects using ROI, NPV, IRR, etc.; prioritize opportunities, optimize capital, eliminate waste (while protecting critical R&D initiatives), and report KPIs to guide decisions
Manage engineering/R&D budgeting and controls to align spend with timelines and goals; implement cost controls and forecasting to avoid overruns
Build accountable finance team; establish processes/controls/reporting across functions; drive efficiency, cost reduction, and working capital improvements
Ensure regulatory/tax/GAAP compliance, internal controls, audits, tax strategy, and risk mitigation Implement business controls to ensure conformance to policies and accuracy/timeliness in financial reporting
Optimize corporate structure, subsidiaries, and entities for expansion, tax efficiency, and governance
Lead Finance operations (FP&A, accounting, treasury, cash flow); contribute to M&A, exits, and corporate strategy
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business
8+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 2 years as CFO or VP Finance
Proven track record in start-up or financial stabilization situations
Direct experience leading Series A or Series B fundraising rounds (100M+ preferred)
Deep expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, and financial controls in resource-constrained environments
Experience in aerospace, defense, deep tech, or hardware-intensive R&D industries
Exceptional communication skills with ability to present complex financial information to Board and investors
Ability to be hands on in small team environments without extensive staff support
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $230,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on previous experience. Pay ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and internal equity.
Work Location:
This is an onsite role to be located in Lafayette, CO.
