Role Overview

The Chief Engineer will oversee technical operations and maintenance across our Paros properties. This role ensures all hotel systems, facilities, and infrastructure function smoothly, supporting a seamless and comfortable experience for guests while leading and developing the maintenance team.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership of all engineering and maintenance functions across the properties, ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of all technical systems and infrastructure.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs that protect the assets, extend equipment lifecycle, and minimize operational disruptions.
• Ensure seamless, proactive resolution of technical issues, prioritizing guest comfort, safety, and uninterrupted service delivery at all times.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ensure full compliance with all statutory regulations, certifications, and internal standards, maintaining readiness for audits, inspections, and emergency situations.
• Partner closely with Operations, Housekeeping, and Front Office teams to anticipate technical needs, align maintenance priorities with occupancy and guest flow, and enhance overall guest experience.
• Monitor departmental performance through KPIs, maintenance reports, and cost controls, driving efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
• Support sustainability initiatives by optimizing energy consumption, water usage, and waste management, contributing to responsible and cost-effective hotel operations.

Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as Chief Engineer or in a similar senior technical role in 5-star hotels, preferably within international or large local hotel groups.
• Strong knowledge of hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building management systems.
• Excellent command of the English language; additional languages are considered an asset.
• Proven leadership, team management, and project planning skills.
