Chemical Material Handler

Kelly Services is looking to hire several Site Logistics Operators/Material Handlers in Knoxville, TN for an industry leading chemical company. For this opportunity, you could be placed as a Chemical Finished Product Operator or a Polymers Packaging/Warehousing/Shipping Operator on a long-term, indefinite assignment. You will be working with chemicals and should be comfortable doing such - either with previous experience or the willingness to learn.

Job Duties

• Processing batches and mixes

• Filtering and transferring

• Loading from production

• Obtaining packaged raw materials and supplies

• Drumming in the department

• In-process sample analysis

• Cleaning equipment and routine non-craft maintenance

• Operating forklift after completing certification

• Performing complete housekeeping duties

• Meeting regulatory requirements and keeping the work area clean

• Understanding of all applicable shipping documents for inbound and outbound shipments

• Maintain daily records and reports

Physical Requirements Include:
• Roll and maneuver drums (typically up to 525-lbs net weight).
• Carry and lift 55 lb. containers
• Pull, connect hoses
• Open/close drums/containers
• Ability to use hand tools (wrenches, pliers, ratchets, drills)
• Climb stairs, enter/exit spotter tractors & forklifts (extensive)
• Cleaning of T/C's, T/T’s, and B/T's
• Must pass physical exam
• Must wear respirator
Additional Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of warehouse or manufacturing work experience
• Chemical experience is preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Military experience desirable
• 2+year Forklift experience a plus
• Valid Driver’s License

Pay Rate 16$  per Hour
