• Support hydrogenation process and technology development in the small scale hydrogenation laboratory.
• Provide experimental support and apply scientific principles, modeling, and lab-scale data-rich experimentation to improve process understanding pressure reactions.
• Work with the team to develop a new novel flow hydrogenation equipment.
• Provide experimental support for the development of a new flow / continuous high pressure reactor.
• Provide experimental and modeling support for the development of pressure reactions process.
• The work will span form the very small scale (screening conditions) to full optimization
• Apply scale up principles, modeling tools, and experimental skills using data-rich laboratory instrumentation to improve process understanding and assess proposed process modifications.
• Excellent experimental techniques and familiarity with typical lab equipment
• A good foundational understanding of organic chemistry
• Working knowledge of homogenous or heterogeneous catalysis
• Working knowledge of application of in-situ analysis tools to process understanding including: FTIR, FBRM, UV/Vis
• Working knowledge of UPLC, MS, and NMR
• Working knowledge of kinetics and reaction modeling
• 1-3 years of HPLC experience
• Associate degree or BS in chemistry/chemical engineering or any science related discipline required
