Optime Group are proudly working in partnership with a well-known Bristol Airport ground handling supplier to recruit a team of Check In Agent's (Flexible Working).
What’s on offer:
• Rate of Pay: £13.25 per hour
• Weekly pay (Every Friday)
• 3 weeks of paid training provided (You must be available to attend the full three weeks training).
• You must pick up a minimum of 3 shifts per week. (Shift timing examples below)
• You must be able to pick up at least 1 shift each weekend.
• Please note that you will be required to work either Boxing Day or New Year’s Day. If you do not select a shift on one of these days, a shift will be automatically assigned to you for either Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.
• Ongoing shifts and development opportunities.
• Trained on multiple skills to operate effectively.
Start Date:
• 1st June 2026
Key Duties:
• Assisting passengers with checking in their luggage using the self service machines and processing documentation ahead of their travel.
• The role will require you to work on your feet for extended periods of time. This is due to check in areas being predominantly self service.
• The role covers all front of house customer service tasks, to ensure a smooth and seamless passenger journey through Bristol Airport.
• Greeting passengers on arrival at the airport and answering any queries passengers might have about their journey, assisting with any disruption and resolving issues.
• Check passengers’ travel documents, such as passports, and boarding passes, to confirm their identity and eligibility for travel.
• Collect any applicable fees for checked luggage, excess baggage, or other services, and process payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Manage and organise passenger queues to ensure an efficient and orderly check-in process, especially during peak travel times.
• Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as flight delays, cancellations, or disruptions in a calm and professional manner, providing passengers with updated information and solutions.
• Upholding airline standards and company values at all times in your customer service, personal presentation and timekeeping.
• There will be opportunities to up skill and complete airside boarding training.
• Full training will be given which involves 15 days of classroom-based training. (3 weeks in total)
Requirements:
• Valid Passport or Driving Licence /Birth Certificate or National ID card.
• This role requires you to stand for long periods of time (4-6 hours).
• UK Settled Status (If applicable)
• Proof of National Insurance
• Proof of (current) Address
• 5 Year Address History
• 5 Year Work Reference History
• Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic criminal record check following the interview in line with CAA requirements.
Shifts available:
Below are the shifts that will be available on the App, you must be able to work 3 shifts per week and able to work the AM shifts below. This is not a full-time role.
Please note there are only AM shifts available.
• 03:00am to 09:00am
• 03:30am to 09:30am
• 04:00am to 10:00am - THIS IS MOSTLY AVAILABLE. Anyone that is hired MUST be able to work this shift timing.
Please only apply if you can commit to picking up at least 1 shift each weekend.
*Minimum monthly hours required for training purposes.
PLEASE NOTE: As this position is in the aviation industry, successful applicants must be able to provide 5-year checkable history.
