Check-in Agent - Bristol Airport

Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are excited to be recruiting Check-In Agents to join a well-respected and successful client in Bristol Airport.

What’s on offer:

• Rate of Pay: £13.25 per hour
• Shifts: 20 and 25 hours per week.

• 20th April 2026

Key Duties:

• Assisting passengers with checking in their luggage using the self service machines and processing documentation ahead of their travel.
• The role will require you to work on your feet for extended periods of time. This is due to check in areas being predominantly self service.
• The role covers all front of house customer service tasks, to ensure a smooth and seamless passenger journey through Bristol Airport.
• Greeting passengers on arrival at the airport and answering any queries passengers might have about their journey, assisting with any disruption and resolving issues.
• Check passengers’ travel documents, such as passports, and boarding passes, to confirm their identity and eligibility for travel.
• Collect any applicable fees for checked luggage, excess baggage, or other services, and process payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Manage and organise passenger queues to ensure an efficient and orderly check-in process, especially during peak travel times.
• Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as flight delays, cancellations, or disruptions in a calm and professional manner, providing passengers with updated information and solutions.
• Upholding airline standards and company values at all times in your customer service, personal presentation and timekeeping.
• There will be opportunities to up skill and complete airside boarding training.
• You will be required to complete a three-week training programme, consisting of two weeks of classroom-based training followed by one week of on-site boarding training. Attendance and successful completion of all three weeks are mandatory to confirm your position.

Shifts:

The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working a 20 hour or 25 hour roster rota done on a rotation.

20 Hours - 3 on 6 off:

Day 1: 0300 – 1200 / 0400 - 1300

Day 2: 0300 – 1200 / 0400 - 1300

Day 3: 0300 – 1200 / 0400 – 1300
X6 Rest Days

Day 1: 1200 – 2100

Day 2: 1200 – 2100

Day 3: 1200 – 2100

25 hours - 5 on 3 off:

Day 1: 0300 - 1010

Day 2: 0430 - 1110

Day 3: 0430 - 1140

Day 4: 1500 - 2100

Day 5: 1500 - 2100

Overtime is available!

Requirements:

• Previous customer service experience is desirable.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Confident using technology / IT systems.
• Clean DBS check
• 5-year checkable work/education history
• Flexibility
