About the role

As a Chase Vehicle Operator, you will safely operate a passenger vehicle during the testing and deployment of Gatik’s autonomous trucks. You will support the safe and effective operation of autonomous test vehicles by maintaining a protective buffer, monitoring surrounding traffic, and supporting the autonomous vehicle (AV) team during testing and live operations.

We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter. You’ll be a valuable contributor by collecting necessary data for our engineering teams aimed at improving our groundbreaking automated driving technology while meeting customers’ product delivery needs.

This role is onsite in Chandler, Arizona.

What you'll do

• Manually drive a chase passenger vehicle that is following a Gatik autonomous truck.

• Maintain a safe following distance and protective buffer behind the AV.

• Monitor traffic conditions, road hazards, and AV status; communicate updates.

• Support disengagements, system issues, and emergency response procedures.

• Log and report observations, incidents, or environmental hazards.

• Coordinate with the team to ensure smooth testing operations.

• Comply with traffic laws and all AV testing and safety protocols.

• Learn and adhere to company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with safe operations standards

• Clean driving record and successful background and drug screenings

• Initiative, proactivity, and a strong focus on detail and safety.

• Clear communication and effective collaboration, while also thriving in independent work settings.

• Adherence to all local, state, and federal AV testing regulations.

• Maintenance of confidentiality of AV operations and technology.

• Adaptable to varied shift schedules, including evenings, weekdays, and weekends.

Hourly Pay: $22/hour

Shift Hours: Nighttime shifts are common with some daytime shifts.

Weekly Hours: Expect 40–45 hours per week, with availability required across all 7 days.
