Hospice Volunteer Coordinator

Description:
As a
Chaplain, you will work to provide ecumenical and inclusive spiritual support to our
patients and their family. This position serves as a comprehensive Spiritual Counselor, responsible for assessing the spiritual needs of a patient and their family and you will work closely with members of the Interdisciplinary Team.
Requirements:
Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license
Must have a strong understanding and practical application with Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology and/or training in healthcare chaplaincy
Experience in working with patient and families dealing with life threatening illnesses and death is preferred
Completion of at least one (1) unit in Clinical Pastoral Education
Minimum two years of ministerial experience
Current CPR certification
Responsibilities:
Assists patients and caregivers to understand more fully life’s events as they relate to spiritual and emotional well-being.
Participates in the initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment by facilitating the spiritual assessment of the patient and/or family by direct communication.
Provide non-denominational spiritual care to patients/families from varied religious backgrounds.
Ensures spiritual support is available to patients and families, in keeping with their wishes and desires.
Provide consultation, education, and support for other members of the hospice team as needed.
Works with other professionals in resolving spiritual / pastoral / ethical issues.
