Job Summary
The Channel Programming Apprentice will ensure smooth daily operations for content telecast by coordinating with multiple internal stakeholders.
About the Team
The Hindi Movies team is responsible for managing a bouquet of multiple movie channels that appeals to a wide range of viewers. This role is part of the Programming Strategy & Insights team of the Hindi Movies Team. The incumbent will support programming operations & secondary research for Hindi Movie Channels by analyzing viewership & competition data. The role focuses on execution excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Researching movie viewership preferences across markets and languages
• Assisting with day-to-day programming operations for the movies channel
• Studying viewer preferences for films across markets such as- Hindi movies, Tamil movies, Telugu movies, Other regional and dubbed movie segments
• Understanding genre performance (action, romance, comedy, classics, etc.)
• Supporting the team with research-driven insights
• Helping with programming operations when required
• Research movie consumption patterns and viewership trends across languages and regions
• Assist in analysing basic data related to movie performance and audience behaviour
• Track movie assets, runs, and telecast timelines
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution
• Communicate schedule changes to relevant stakeholders
Skills and Attributes for Success:
• Strong interest in films and audience trends
• Curiosity about how different markets consume movies
• High attention to detail and organisational skills
• Comfort working with data, reports, and presentations
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
• Preferred: exposure to media research, ratings, or broadcast operations
Preferred Education:
• Graduates in Media, Mass Communication, or related fields
• 0-2 years of experience
• Freshers with a strong interest in films and media research are encouraged
