What you'll do

Reporting to the Marketing Director, East Asia, you will spearhead our partner and field marketing efforts in Korea, serving as the strategic architect of our brand and customer acquisition in this vital new market. As the primary driver of our local presence, you will define how Airwallex resonates with Korean entrepreneurs and businesses, bridging the gap between global vision and local execution.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and expanding Airwallex’s key partner relationships to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition. You will act as our local subject matter expert, localizing global messaging and uncovering unique growth opportunities to ensure cultural and market relevance. Working hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Sales and corporate affairs, you will serve as the on-the-ground connector for all marketing activities, ensuring every initiative is tailored to the Korean landscape.

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven leader who is obsessive when it comes to measurement, experimentation, and creative excellence. You will develop and implement a winning lead generation strategy to support the commercial team in achieving exceptional business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to join as our first Partner and Field Marketing Lead in the region, helping shape the next phase of Airwallex’s expansion as we establish a dominant presence in the market.

Responsibilities:

• Partnerships & Community

• Partner Management: Build and execute the end-to-end lifecycle—from initial outreach to onboarding—for community partners such as foreign chambers and industry associations to drive lead generation and brand awareness.

• Ecosystem Building: Collaborate with key platforms (e-commerce marketplaces, logistics, etc.) to develop co-marketing opportunities and solve shared industry challenges.

• Association Ownership: Manage local Korean industry associations to unlock sustainable customer acquisition and revenue growth.

• Market Growth & Localization

• GTM Leadership: Partner with the commercial and marketing leader to build a fully integrated Go-To-Market strategy for Korea.

• Local Authority: Provide critical insights on the competitive landscape, product-market fit, and regulatory nuances to ensure cultural relevance.

• Campaigns: Localize global campaigns to resonate with the Korean market.

• Field Marketing & Execution

• Event Orchestration: Define and lead the onshore execution of brand-building and lead-generation events.

• Sales Alignment: Collaborate with commercial and marketing leaders to refine GTM planning and maintain a closed feedback loop on marketing initiatives.

• Cross-Functional Operations: Coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Ops to ensure seamless partner onboarding and manage the local marketing budget and reporting.

What you will bring

• 7+ years’ experience in partnership, marketing or business development.

• Experience driving complex negotiations for partner marketing initiatives

• Experience working with relevant industry associations and bodies.

• Experience in negotiation and partnership proposal development is preferred.

• Experience in strategy/ops or working in tech or a fast-growing start-up would be advantageous.

• Experience in event planning and management

• Excellent communication skill that enables close working relationships with key leaders internally and externally.

• Excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills

• Strong analytical skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
