Job Summary
The CG Graphics Operator is responsible for preparing, managing, and executing on-air graphics for live and recorded programming to support high-quality broadcast production. This role ensures the accuracy, timing, and visual consistency of graphics, contributing to a seamless viewer experience. The position requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency in graphics systems, and the ability to make real-time adjustments in a fast-paced, live production environment. The CG Graphics Operator collaborates closely with producers and production staff to align graphics with program content and timing.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare, manage, and execute electronic graphics for live and recorded broadcasts.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of all on-air graphics elements.
Review and verify graphics content for grammar, spelling, and formatting prior to broadcast.
Apply judgment in timing and presentation of graphics to support production flow.
Coordinate with producers and production staff to align graphics with program content.
Input and organize graphics for efficient retrieval during live and recorded programming.
Make real-time adjustments to graphics during live broadcasts as needed.
Maintain production-ready graphics systems and files.
Support multiple productions while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
Communicate effectively with control room staff during live broadcasts.
Assist in troubleshooting minor graphics or system issues during production.
Ensure all graphics meet network standards and production requirements.
Other Duties
Assist with preparation of graphics for upcoming productions.
Provide support across studio productions as needed.
Maintain organization of graphics assets and file systems.
Participate in production planning discussions as needed.
Support special projects related to graphics and production.
Cross-train and provide backup support for similar production roles.
Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management to meet organizational needs.
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree or higher in TV Broadcasting or related field preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience operating on-air graphics systems (Chyron or equivalent required).
Experience in live broadcast or production environment preferred.
Familiarity with studio production workflows.
Proficiency in Windows-based applications for live production.
Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Basic understanding of video production and broadcast standards.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of broadcast and production technology.
Proficiency in on-air graphics systems (e.g., Chyron or similar).
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to apply judgment in timing and presentation of graphics.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to remain focused under pressure in live production settings.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to stand, sit, stoop, pull, kneel, talk, and hear as needed for the role.
Use hands/fingers for operation of equipment and tools.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, carry, and reach.
Occasional travel and outdoor conditions may be required based on production needs, reach, pull, and push.
