About the Role

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, working under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients achieve their therapeutic goals. Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.

Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

State licensure or eligibility for licensure as required by the state of practice.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.

Certification in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.

Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients' physical and cognitive abilities.

Monitor and document patients' progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist.

Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies to enhance daily living skills.

Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional.
