Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – New Jersey
A CNA in New Jersey provides essential direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The role is crucial in supporting patient well-being and ensuring a safe, comfortable care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene)
Support patients during meals, monitor nutrition, and record intake/output
Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
Aid with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper techniques and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas, change linens, and sanitize equipment
Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote patient dignity and well-being
Qualifications:
Valid CNA certification in New Jersey
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification (often preferred)
Experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Physically able to lift/move patients and stand for extended periods
Work Environment:
Settings include hospitals, rehab centers, long-term care facilities, and home healthcare
Schedules may involve mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation:
Varies by experience, location, and employer
Some positions offer up to $27 per hour, plus benefits like tuition reimbursement, health insurance, and 401(k) matching
