A Day in the Life:
As a Medication Administration Certified Trainer at the Charles Lea Center, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the Medication Administration Training and certification process for all unlicensed personnel within the residential and day programs. This role ensures that all staff administering medications meet competency standards in compliance with South Carolina DDSN requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responsible for medication administration initial certification training and recertification
programs, competency testing, and all related records for new and current employees.
Provides support to all personnel providing medication assistance.
Provides support to all personnel documenting medication assistance.
Provide supports focused on people achieving their goals related to medication administration.
Remains competent and knowledgeable about SCDDSN and CLC’s Medication Administration Requirements
Ensures that all relevant policy and procedures are adhered to in the programs.
Interacts with staff in the residential and day programs.
Interacts with the people supported.
Assist in the development of on-going QA activities regarding medication administration.

What You’ll Need:
Must be at least 18 years old
Diploma or Associates degree from an accredited nursing program
Active license in good standing with the SC Board of Nursing
CPR and First Aid certification
Strong time management and communication skills
Ability to travel frequently within Spartanburg County
Valid driver’s license and Social Security number
Ability to type 70+ WPM and navigate basic computer systems
Must pass background checks, DMV screening, Medicaid exclusion, fingerprinting (if SC resident <1 year), and provide 3 professional references
Physical Requirements:
This role involves regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and hands-on support. Reasonable accommodations are available.
