Position Overview:
The Certified Medical Coder will accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes to medical records, ensuring compliance with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and payer requirements. The position supports revenue integrity, audit readiness, and accurate reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines
• Query providers for clarification as needed
• Assist with coding audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain productivity and accuracy benchmarks
• Support coding education for internal teams and providers
Physical Examination Responsibilities:
• None or minimal; primarily office-based

Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Job qualifications & certifications:
• Active CPC, CCS, or CCS-P certification required
• Minimum 2 years of professional or facility coding experience
• Strong knowledge of CMS, OIG, and payer documentation requirements
• Experience with multispecialty coding strongly preferred.
• Skills:
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in EHRs and coding software
