Job Overview

HireQuest Direct is seeking dependable, safety-minded Certified Flaggers for part-time traffic control assignments throughout Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Puyallup, and Olympia. This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible, part-time work in construction support and roadway safety. Assignments vary by job site. Mileage is available when a job site is outside normal traveling range.

Responsibilities

Perform traffic control and flagging duties to ensure safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

Set up and break down traffic control zones (cones, signage, barricades) as directed.

Use Stop/Slow paddle and radios to coordinate traffic flow with the crew and site lead.

Maintain awareness of site hazards and follow all job site safety requirements.

Communicate clearly with supervisors, crew members, and the public while keeping safety the top priority.

Requirements

Certified Flagger (must have current certification appropriate for the work area).

Must have full personal protective equipment (PPE) including:

Steel toe boots

Hi-visible vest

Hardhat

Stop/Slow paddle

Radios

CERTIFIED FLAGGER

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand for extended periods.

Reliable transportation to travel between job sites (Tacoma/Gig Harbor/Puyallup/Olympia).

Punctual, professional, and able to follow direction and safety protocols.
