Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Surgical Technologist III (CVOR) for a top healthcare client in Kansas City, MO.
This advanced technologist position assists in complex surgical procedures across cardiovascular, robotic, neuro/spine, burn, and vascular specialties. The Surgical Technologist III anticipates the needs of the surgical team, maintains a sterile environment, and ensures all instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly managed for safe, high-quality operative care.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist surgeons and the operative team by anticipating procedural needs and managing instruments and supplies.
• Perform first and second scrub duties during surgical procedures, including handling retractors, cutting sutures, suctioning, and sponging.
• Support complex cases such as open-heart, endovascular, robotic, neuro/spine, and joint replacement surgeries.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure the integrity of the sterile field throughout procedures.
• Coordinate with nursing and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless patient care before, during, and after operations.
• Manage inventory, instrument sterilization, and readiness of surgical equipment.
• Serve as a lead resource for CVOR and specialty cases, mentoring junior technologists and ensuring departmental efficiency.
Requirements:
Education
• Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
Experience
• Minimum of 1 year of CVOR and open-heart surgical technology experience required
• 7+ years of CVOR and hybrid operating room experience strongly preferred
• Experience leading in robotic, total joint, neuro/spine, burn, and vascular cases
Certifications/Licenses
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) through NCCT required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
Skills or Competencies
• Advanced understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and maintain sterile technique
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
