Cellular Process Development Intern

The Role:

ElevateBio BaseCamp is looking for a detail-oriented intern to join the Cellular Process Development group. This role involves hands-on experience in supporting the development and scale-up of a cellular bioprocessing workflow. The development also includes the evaluation of innovative cellular selection technology. The intern will work alongside experienced scientists supporting the execution and analysis of a novel research and development project.

Here's what you'll do:

• Work in the laboratory and be responsible for the experimental execution and data analysis for research studies supporting cutting edge bioprocessing technology

• Conduct experiments involving primary cell isolation, activation, expansion, and cryopreservation

• Employ viral based strategies to express transgenic receptors in gene edited cells

• Expand and maintain gene modified human cells in various bioreactor systems

• Perform standard cell culture and immunological assays including cell counting and flow cytometry

• Support laboratory operations including laboratory maintenance, material ordering, technical document generation, and cell inventory management

• Maintain a laboratory notebook

• Prepare and summarize data for internal team review

• Present a scientific poster during an internal symposium summarizing the findings from the research project

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in biology, biomedical engineering, or a related scientific discipline

• Completed coursework in cell biology, biochemistry, or bioengineering

• General knowledge of cell culture and cell cryopreservation principles

• Experience working in a laboratory following proper aseptic technique

• General understanding of cell culture technologies, closed system processing, blood and cell processing technologies and analytics

• Flow cytometry experience is desirable

• Independently motivated, detail oriented, and excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a faced-paced environment

The budgeted range for this position is $25.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected hourly range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
