CDL Skilled Highway Technician

DCSAM is seeking a Skilled Highway Technician that can perform a variety of tasks related to the day-to-day maintenance, servicing, repair of roadways, and other infrastructure assets. As an employee of DCS Asset Management, you will need to have an eye for detail, all while upholding our company’s morals and principles, as well as adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creates safe Maintenance of Traffic; control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.

• Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces including potholes, striping, adding, or replacing reflectors, delineators, working with concrete and asphalt.
• Maintains clean appearance of highways and medians through litter and debris removal and disposal (may use litter claw or another device).
• Repairs/maintains functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc. through use of shovels and other hand or power tools and equipment.
• Controls vegetation appearance and growth through use of lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers and other methods.
• Maintains the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fence, and lighting through repair and/or replacement using hand or power tools.
• Transport crew and equipment to work sites operating vehicle pickup trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
• Responsible for the proper management, preventative maintenance, and repair of trucks and equipment.
• Perform all other duties, as assigned.  

Experience:

• At least 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Must have a Commercial Driver’s license, Class A or B.
• Minimum of 2 years of related roadway/highway maintenance or construction, and/or related equipment experience.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Must be available to be on the on-call rotation for emergency response.
• Must have excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working from various heights.
• Advanced MOT certified preferred.
• First aid and CPR certified preferred.
