CCE Civic Leadership Fellow - MAlt Break Support (AY 25-26 900611)

Are you interested in gaining skills in program development, building confidence in community-engaged leadership, and gaining valuable knowledge in immersive, community-engaged learning practices? This is a unique leadership position with an opportunity to work closely with both peer leaders and a CCE program advisor.

All CCE Fellows enjoy access to civic leadership training and events throughout the academic year,

including CCE’s Civic Leadership Retreat, typically held the week before Fall classes begin.

This is a Middlebury student Level B position paying $14.95 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

• Meet with CCE program advisor weekly
• Provide programming/technical support to peer leaders, staff or faculty as needed regarding best practices in leading immersive, community-engaged trips, group development, trip itinerary development, techniques for leading reflection, and developing trips with a grounding in social justice.
• Organize social/educational events for immersive, community-engaged trip leaders and participants
• Conduct research and analysis for program impact/best practices
• Create/edit/write creative program resources such as guides, checklists, journal prompts
• Maintain relevant Instagram account
• Respond to relevant emails
• Organize digital files in program share drive
• Elicit and contribute student voice in program adaptations

Requirements:
Position Prerequisites:

• Must be organized, self motivated, creative thinker, able to independently manage projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
• Previous involvement with immersive, community-engaged trips (MAlt in particular preferred)
• Strong ability to work within a team environment, with a willingness/flexibility to contribute to a variety of program needs and peer/staff support as they arise.
• Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to conduct research and analyze data, including synthesis of survey feedback.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, required.
• Knowledge of additional platforms such as 25Live, MiddLink, Drupel, and Canvas are preferred.
• Experience creating graphic outreach and program resource documents such as booklets, training guides, and/or toolkits preferred.
• Middlebury van license or ability to acquire Middlebury van license preferred, but not required.

Hours: 3-5 hrs of training in Spring term ‘26 (TBD) and 3hr/week AY’26-’27

Student Employment Eligibility:

Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus.

Students on leave or withdrawn are not eligible to work in student employment positions until the semester in which they return. If you are currently withdrawn or on leave you are eligible to be employed in staff positions.

Some may be restricted due to financial aid status. International students (non-resident aliens) may not work off campus unless they have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government. (An F-1 visa does not give work authorization.) Off campus work study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component.

Student are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.

Hour Limitations:

All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
