Cath Lab Technologist (Special Procedures)
Hermitage / Nashville Area, TN
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Days • Monday–Friday
Shift Structure: 4x10s (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Call Requirement: Rotating call (approximately 8–10 days per month, including some weekends)
Pay & Incentives
• Hourly Pay Range: $30.73 – $46.09 (based on experience)
• Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
• Relocation Assistance: $5,000
• On-Call Pay: $8.00/hour
Overview
A high-acuity cardiovascular and interventional services program is seeking a skilled Special Procedures Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures.
This role is ideal for technologists with experience in Cath Lab, EP Lab, or Special Procedures, who are comfortable scrubbing cases, managing hemodynamics, and supporting physicians during complex interventions. Cross-training within the cardiac cath environment is expected.
Responsibilities
• Scrub and assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and procedure trays in accordance with protocol
• Record, monitor, and document procedures, including hemodynamic measurements and valve readings
• Administer contrast media following age- and weight-based guidelines
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications, including indications, contraindications, and side effects
• Establish and maintain IV access as ordered
• Accurately document procedures and imaging in the electronic medical record and PACS
• Measure, handle, and dispose of radioactive materials in compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in rotating call coverage and support off-hours cases as needed
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
Required:
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• ARRT certification (RT[R])
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Within 6 Months of Hire:
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred:
• Neuro or advanced interventional experience
• Strong technical, communication, and teamwork skills
