Job Description: Business Development Manager – Office Print Category Team

Role Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Office Print Category Team plays a pivotal role in identifying, shaping, and driving new print growth opportunities across India. This role partners closely with Go-To-Market (GTM) functions—including Category, Enterprise Sales, Commercial Channel, Marketing and Trade Marketing—to unlock new revenue pools, improve market coverage, and accelerate adoption of HP’s Print solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, cross-functional leadership skills, and the ability to translate market insights into executable growth programs.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Market Development

• Identify emerging segments, untapped markets, and whitespace opportunities across SMB, Enterprise, Government, and Print-for-Pay ecosystems.
• Build and execute market-shaping programs aligned with category strategy and GTM priorities.
• Analyze market trends, competitor moves, and customer needs to shape long-term growth levers.
• Support launch of new print products and solutions through targeted activation motions.

GTM Collaboration & Execution Excellence

• Act as the strategic bridge between Category, Sales, Marketing, and Channel teams to drive aligned execution.
• Partner with sales leaders to influence deal pipelines, assist in closing opportunities, and identify demand pockets.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve HP’s end-customer value proposition and accelerate Print revenue and share.

Channel Ecosystem Expansion

• Identify, onboard, and develop channel partners to drive incremental footprint and capability.
• Collaborate with GTM teams on channel enablement, training, incentives, and funnel management to achieve business targets.

Business Analysis & Performance Tracking

• Conduct data-driven analysis of sell-in, sell-out, pricing trends, and funnel dynamics.
• Track ROI of growth programs and recommend course corrections using insights and competitive benchmarks.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

• Influence senior stakeholders to align on growth priorities.
• Act as a trusted advisor to sales and GTM teams with strong executive communication and negotiation skills.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of HP’s Print portfolio, GTM motions, and channel ecosystem.
• Analytical and strategic thinking, with strong business modelling and opportunity qualification skills.
• Strong communication skills: storytelling, presentation, negotiation, and executive influence.
• Ability to simplify complexity, propose creative solutions, and thrive in high-change environments.
• Strong relationship management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• 8-15 years’ experience in Business Development, Category Management, GTM Strategy, Sales, or Commercial roles.
• Experience collaborating across matrixed organizations (Sales, Marketing, Category, Channel, Operations).
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
