What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Category Buyer (manufacturing/direct procurement) with responsibility for executing sourcing activities within defined manufacturing categories, supporting cost-efficient, reliable and scalable supply for ITM’s production and project needs. The role is critical to ITM’s growth as we scale operations, modernise processes and strengthen value delivery across all direct product categories.
The role focuses on supplier management, sourcing execution and contract implementation, ensuring alignment with procurement strategies and project requirements. The Category Buyer plays a key role in enabling efficient project delivery by working closely with Engineering, Operations and Project teams.
Acting as a strategic partner to key stakeholders, you will also take a hands-on role in shaping sourcing strategies and driving process improvements within a rapidly evolving environment.
Responsibilities
Execute sourcing activities and RFQs within assigned categories
Support supplier selection, negotiations and contract implementation
Manage supplier performance, delivery and quality in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Ensure compliance with procurement processes, standards and governance
Support cost reduction initiatives and value improvement measures
Maintain and develop supplier relationships within assigned categories
Coordinate with Engineering, Operations and Project teams to ensure alignment of technical and commercial requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement across procurement processes, systems, reporting, and tools
Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Logistics Finance, IT and other functions to ensure procurement activity supports business strategy
About You
Knowledge and Experience
CIPS qualification (or working towards) desirable
Strong experience in manufacturing procurement, ideally within a multi-category, multi-supplier environment or industrial environments
Strong understanding of sourcing processes and supplier management
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Structured and reliable way of working
Proficient in procurement systems, data analysis, and contract management
Skills and Abilities
Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a results-oriented mindset
Proactive and hands-on mindset
Strong communications skills
Team-oriented with a solution-driven approach
Ability to work in a high-growth, fast-changing business and drive change where needed
