As a (TMP) Designer you will be responsible for creating comprehensive Traffic Plans tailored to client needs. The TMP Designer utilizes strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring effective communication with internal teams, clients, and authorities for successful plan implementation. This position contributes to the overall safety and efficiency of projects, aligning with Universal Group's commitment to excellence in traffic management services.
What you will be responsible for:
Traffic Management Planning:
Draft site-specific traffic management plans for clients in a fast-paced working environment.
Design and follow Traffic Management Plan (TMP) procedures when building plans.
Produce, submit, and amend associated Corridor Access Requests.
Engage with key stakeholders and represent UG professionally on matters relating to Traffic Management Plans.
Project Management:
Manage and follow through large projects efficiently.
Assist the project team and wider business with city/municipality permit applications.
Proactively build and maintain contractor relationships.
Participate in meetings with stakeholders and subcontractors as needed.
Reporting and Data Management:
Prepare data for internal and/or external reporting as required.
Support and Advice:
Provide traffic management advice and support to Operations.
Performance Management:
Meet or exceed individual and department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

What we need from you:
Ability to work flexible hours as a casual worker based on business needs (vacation coverage, peak season support, etc.).
Previous traffic control experience and a valid TCP Ticket issued by UHS or BCCSA is an asset.
Knowledge and understanding of WorkSafeBC Regulations for Traffic Control, Section 18 is an asset.
Knowledge and understanding of Traffic Management Plans and the Traffic Control Manual for Work on
Roadways as developed by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Google suite and other required computer applications.
Prior experience with Drafting Softwares is beneficial.
Experience with Invarion/RapidPlan Software is considered an asset.
Prior Traffic Management and/or customer services experience is an advantage.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
Excellent analytical skills and a strong ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential.
Where/When you will be working:
Shifts worked during normal business hours (Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm) will be in-office.
Hours worked are are assigned on a casual basis, dependent on business needs and are not guaranteed. You will be providing support during peak periods as well as vacation and sick leave coverage.
