The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Part-time, on-call Recording Engineer. The Department of Music & Theatre seeks to hire freelance Recording Engineers to run sessions in our recording studio on a temporary contractual basis. Please submit a resume and at least one letter of recommendation. Experience with Pro Tools software is required. Successful candidates will undergo an orientation in the studio prior to working any sessions.
NOTE: This is a Part-Time Temporary Position
Essential Functions of the position:
Recording engineers at WLU are expected to run every aspect of a recording session they are assigned to and follow all studio, department, and university procedures
Duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, audio recording, tracking, signal processing, mixing, and mastering.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Recording engineers at WLU are required to have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Technology from WLU, a bachelor's degree in audio engineering (or similar) from a different university, or significant professional experience as determined by the current music technology faculty member(s) at West Liberty University following an interview.
Skills/Abilities:
Required proficiencies: ProTools software, the care and use of microphones and microphone-related equipment, the proper use and maintenance of all studio equipment including, but not limited to, cables, patchbays, preamps, direct boxes, computers, monitors, displays, hard drives, and instruments.
Preferred skills: Mixing and post-production.
