Cash Balance Actuaries is a growing actuarial firm and partner of Strongpoint Partners, specializing in Cash Balance and Defined Benefit plan consulting and administration. The firm combines deep technical expertise with a collaborative, client-focused approach to help businesses build and maintain effective retirement programs.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Cash Balance Plan Administrator or Actuarial Consultant to join the CBA team. This role will focus on administering and consulting on small to mid-sized Cash Balance and Defined Benefit plans.
This is a fully remote position offering flexible scheduling, strong benefits, and a performance-driven compensation structure. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a wide range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
• Prepare actuarial valuations for Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plans in accordance with IRS regulations
• Perform annual nondiscrimination testing for qualified retirement plans (Cash Balance, Defined Benefit, and 401(k)/Profit Sharing)
• Complete PBGC filings and required notices
• Prepare annual FASB reports
• Generate participant statements and distribution packages
• Prepare and file government forms, including Form 5500 and Schedule SB
• Conduct plan design studies and projections to ensure compliance with nondiscrimination requirements
• Maintain and review plan documents, including amendments
• Support plan terminations and related IRS/PBGC filings
• Participate in and/or lead client consulting engagements
• Manage client relationships and deliver high-quality service
Note: Business development opportunities are available but not required. Additional compensation is provided for new business contributions.
What You Bring
• 2+ years of experience working with small plan actuarial services
• Strong knowledge of Cash Balance and Defined Benefit plans
• Understanding of business entities and their impact on plan design and compensation
• Ability to interpret client business needs and translate them into effective retirement plan solutions
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
