Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles is a growing psychiatric hospital dedicated to serving both adult and geriatric populations. Since opening our first facility in 2015 in Magnolia, Mississippi, we have expanded to 12 locations across Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
As we continue to grow, we are actively expanding our Lake Charles team in preparation for increasing our capacity to a total of 42 beds, serving both adult and geriatric patients.

A Case Manager in a psychiatric facility is responsible for coordinating and overseeing patient care to ensure individuals receive the appropriate services and support throughout their treatment.
In this role, the case manager conducts assessments, develops individualized care and discharge plans, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, therapists, and community resources to meet each patient’s mental health and social needs. They help facilitate continuity of care by arranging follow-up appointments, housing resources, therapy services, and other support systems after discharge.
The case manager also serves as a liaison between patients, families, and the treatment team, providing education, advocacy, and guidance. Strong communication, organizational skills, and knowledge of mental health resources are essential to ensure patients experience a safe, supportive transition through and beyond their care.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: A psychology major is preferred or nursing education
License: Nursing License, Social Worker License, &/or LPN
Experience: 1+ years coordinating utilization review and discharge planning activities
