Now Hiring: Senior Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Technician (Sales-Focused)
Paul Davis Restoration is seeking an experienced Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Technician with a strong background in professional cleaning, customer relations, and consultative sales. This role is ideal for someone who understands the technical side of cleaning and knows how to turn great service into long-term customer relationships.
If you already speak the language of IICRC standards, understand proper cleaning methodology, and are confident recommending solutions that add real value for customers, this role was built for you.
About the Role
This position blends:
Advanced carpet & upholstery cleaning expertise
Customer education and relationship building
Revenue-generating sales through trust, not pressure
You’ll work with both residential and commercial clients, representing a nationally recognized restoration brand while helping grow recurring service work.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Cleaning Expertise
Perform high-quality residential and commercial carpet cleaning
Clean upholstery and area rugs using proper fiber identification and methods
Select and apply appropriate cleaning techniques:
Hot water extraction (steam cleaning)
Low-moisture / encapsulation
Bonnet and dry compound methods
Perform advanced spot, stain, and odor treatment, including pet-related issues
Apply carpet protectants and deodorization treatments
Safely operate and maintain professional-grade equipment
Follow IICRC standards, company SOPs, and safety guidelines at all times
Sales, Estimating & Relationship Building
This is a growth-focused role for someone comfortable discussing value and solutions.
Residential
Educate homeowners on proper carpet and upholstery maintenance
Recommend recurring cleaning schedules
Offer add-on services such as protectant, upholstery, tile & grout, or area rugs
Generate repeat and referral business through professional service and follow-up
Commercial
Build relationships with property managers, offices, and local businesses
Present carpet and upholstery maintenance programs
Develop recurring service agreements and long-term contracts
Identify opportunities for bundled services and ongoing care
Preferred Experience & Certifications
We are specifically looking for candidates with:
IICRC certifications in:
Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT)
Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT)
Proven experience in:
Professional carpet & upholstery cleaning
Commercial large-area cleaning
Odor control and stain remediation
Comfort with estimating, upselling, and recommending services
Restoration or water mitigation experience (strong plus)
