Job Title: Caregiver – Adult Group Homes
Location: Montana – Developmental Disabilities Program (DDP)
Reports To: Program Director
Position Summary:
The Caregiver provides direct care and daily support to adults with developmental disabilities living in group home settings. This role is vital for ensuring residents’ safety, well-being, and quality of life while promoting independence and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Support residents with medication administration and health monitoring as directed.
Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
Encourage and assist residents in developing independent living and social skills.
Accompany residents to appointments, community activities, and recreational outings.
Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
Document care provided, resident progress, and any incidents or concerns.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established protocols.
Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a group home setting preferred, but not required.
Ability to pass background checks and meet all state and organizational requirements.
Compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
