At Goodwill Industries of Tenneva, we believe work changes lives. As a Career Navigator, you will play a vital role in helping individuals identify career pathways, build essential skills, and overcome barriers to meaningful employment.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about people, skilled in coaching and case management, and motivated by measurable impact. From intake through employment, you will serve as a consistent advocate, coach, and connector, helping participants move from goals to sustainable careers.
What You’ll Do
Participant Intake & Career Planning
Conduct participant intake and ensure accurate, compliant documentation
Administer and interpret career and skill assessments
Develop individualized career and financial plans with SMART goals
Maintain complete and timely documentation in required systems
Case Management & Ongoing Support
Manage an active caseload in collaboration with leadership
Conduct regular check-ins to monitor progress and address barriers
Coordinate internal and external referrals to support participant success
Serve as a consistent point of contact from career planning through employment placement
Training & Skill Development
Deliver one-on-one and group instruction in digital literacy, workplace readiness, soft skills, and life skills
Support engagement in online learning platforms
Provide job search assistance, including resume development and interview preparation
Adapt training delivery to meet diverse learning styles and needs
Collaboration & Program Coordination
Partner with internal teams and external organizations to ensure seamless service delivery
Track attendance, engagement, progress, and employment outcomes
Ensure compliance with service delivery protocols and grant requirements
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Counseling, Workforce Development, or related field strongly preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in case management, workforce development, career coaching, or human services will be considered
Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment strongly preferred
Key Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of workforce development principles and career pathways
Ability to conduct assessments and build participant-owned SMART plans
Strong case management and documentation skills
Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance and data integrity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn required systems
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office and classroom or training environment, with regular interaction with participants, staff, and community partners. Occasional local travel may be required for employer visits, outreach events, or meetings.
