The Care and Wellness Consultant is a full-time, limited term administrative position reporting to the Center for Student Support and Care and serves as a key member of the non-clinical case management team. In this embedded role, this Care and Wellness Consultant specializes in working with Residential Life Hall Staff, offering student support for student staff with mental health concerns, providing professional and student staff training, and consulting on student care and crisis support. 

This is a limited term position with funding through June 2027. 

Case Management

• Provide non-clinical case management oversight for all cases involving members of hall staff, particularly resident assistant and assistant rector roles. 
• Assist referred students in making use of University and/or community resources.
• Maintain the electronic database of case management records.
• Manage additional responsibilities that are distributed amongst the staff of the Center.

Education and Outreach

• Establish and maintain collaborative and consultative working relationships with campus partners across the University including Student Affairs and Academic Units.
• Train professional and student Residential Life staff on identifying and responding to student concerns and trauma informed care. 
• Coordinate People with Hope to Bring hall staff restoration groups and restorative mini-grants and serve as a campus-wide facilitator for programs.

CARE Team

• Coordinate with the CARE Team on students in need of higher-level interventions and to ensure continuity of care.
• Lead conversations within Residential Life regularly on student needs and interventions. 
• Provide support to hospitalized students and assist in transition back to campus. 
• Assist student staff to navigate post crisis situations and attend to staff wellbeing.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• 3-5 years experience and advanced degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education, Divinity or related field. 
• Experience managing crisis situations.
• Knowledge about developmental, psychological, social, and medical issues related to college-aged students particularly in a residential education setting.
• Creating and facilitating educational programs for college students in a developmental model.
• Previous training or ability to be trained in I CAN HELP, GreeNDot, Mental Health First Aid, and Wellness and Resilience (University of Pennsylvania Resilience Program).
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and multicultural competencies. 
• A commitment to the University’s Catholic identity and the ability to implement policies, programs, services and best practices that are consistent with the University’s Catholic mission, values, and teachings.

Salary: Up to $57,000
