Job Description

 The Cardiovascular (Cardiothoracic) Operating Room Registered Nurse reports to the Cardiovascular (Cardiothoracic) Operating Room Registered Nurse Specialty Coordinator and the Director of the Main Operating Room and Cardiac Surgery Services. The CVOR Registered Nurse demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in circulating and scrubbing various types of cardiothoracic surgical procedures. The CVOR RN will also scrub and circulate major complex surgical procedures, such as general, ortho, neuro, spine, when not performing in cardiothoracic cases.

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

5 years of scrubbing and circulating all types of heart and chest cases? (answer must be yes) 

5 years experien scrubbing and circulating other types of cases, i.e., general, ortho, spine? (yes) 

Does the candidate have CA license or in process of obtaining? (yes) 

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Candidate must have solid experience scrubbing and circulating heart and chest cases as well as general cases. Must be willing to take call and work overtime as needed. Ideally, this person has visited this area or has some knowledge of the Monterey Peninsula.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE WORKED FOR THE FOLLOWING COMPANY(IES): 

Community based hospitals where they have dual role in OR (CVOR and perioperative RN). Large teaching institutes are okay, but must have the experience with all types of cardiothoracic cases as well as general cases.
