Cancer Support Group Clinical Facilitator, CSC Massachusetts
Part Time
Cancer Support Community (CSC) location in Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated, professional, and passionate Clinical Facilitator. The Clinical Facilitator is responsible for the facilitation of support groups for people affected by cancer. The Clinical Facilitator is a highly experienced, licensed clinical mental health professional who is specifically trained in CSC philosophy and methodology and utilizes those skills in group facilitation at CSC. Responsibilities also include attendance at weekly supervision/clinical calls for 1 hour. The Clinical Facilitator may also be asked to oversee educational workshops and other programs as well as represent the CSC mission, core concepts, and philosophy to the general public.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Facilitator is responsible for the facilitation of support groups for people affected by cancer. The Clinical Facilitator is a highly experienced, licensed clinical mental health professional who is specifically trained in CSCS philosophy and methodology and utilizes those skills in group facilitation at CSC. The Clinical Facilitator may also be expected to oversee educational workshops and other programs as well as representing the CSC mission, core concepts, and philosophy to the general public.
FACILITATING SUPPORT GROUPS:
Within the framework of the CSC model, help group members share their cancer related experiences in regularly scheduled group meetings.
Assist groups of people affected by cancer to explore positive and negative emotions, better understand and reduce distress, and improve their quality of life.
Assure that participants gain knowledge and information from each other to become more active in their cancer treatment and recovery (Patient Active).
Helps CSC participants discover ways to reduce their sense of isolation, regain a sense of control, and find hope that they can cope with and hopefully recover from their cancer.
OVERSEEING WORKSHOPS & SPECIAL EVENTS:
Serve as a host for education workshops and other special programs
Briefly introduce speakers/workshop leaders, provide remarks, and an overview of CSC
Helping to field questions and answers throughout sessions
Provide evaluations and feedback to Program Director on the process and content of the workshop.
Performs other duties as requested by management
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work well with groups of individuals with serious chronic and/or terminal illness
Willingness to master and implement CSC psychosocial support methods, participate in ongoing clinical supervision, and the overall experience of a therapeutic community
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Familiarity video conferencing applications like Zoom
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required.
EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in group facilitation
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/REGISTRATIONS: An independently licensed mental health professional (LCSW or LCPC preferred; LPC or LSW required) in the state of Massachusetts.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Dependent on experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer PT statutory benefits required by law.
WORK LOCATION
This position is fully remote and requires a PC, tablet or laptop with reliable internet capability. CSC MA does not provide employees with devices.
