Job Summary
This role supports the planning and execution of community engagement programs that promote Calgary as the location of choice for business, investment and career growth.
This is a 8-week Term.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Administration
Support in accurate tracking of Team Calgary partners and hosted events.
Input new information and ensure administrative processes are current and correct.
Utilize CRM, Monday.com and Excel to update and manage key documents.
Assist in creating annual engagement reports for Team Calgary partners.
Work from established templates to produce partner reports.
Review and refine materials to ensure reports are thorough, accurate, and easy to read.
Engagement with other members of the organization to retrieve all relevant information for the reports
Support in creation of communication templates to be used by the Team Calgary team throughout the year.
Event Support
Support the administration and execution of key Team Calgary events.
Prepare registration lists and assist in implementing event plans.
Provide on-site support during events as needed.
Engage and network with Team Calgary partners during events.
Event involvement will vary based on internship timing.
Your Growth Journey
The Community Engagement Intern will gain hands-on experience in administration and event coordination while building practical skills in CRM management, data tracking, and reporting. They will learn to create engagement reports, refine communication templates, and support the planning and execution of high-profile events. Along the way, they will strengthen organizational, communication, and networking skills by collaborating with internal teams and engaging with key partners—preparing them for future roles in client relations, event management, and business development.
Supervision Plan
The Community Engagement Intern will report to and work day-to-day under the guidance of the Team Calgary Manager, who will provide clear performance expectations and deliverables for the term. Progress will be reviewed in regular check-ins, with formal evaluations at the midpoint and end of the internship.
Team Mentoring
The intern will report to the Team Calgary Manager and work closely with the Team Calgary Specialist. Both will provide mentorship, training, and guidance on projects and deliverables. The intern will also collaborate with the Business Development, Investor Experience, and Core Marketing & Communications teams, as well as other CED staff, to gain diverse exposure and ensure impactful contributions that support organizational goals and stakeholder engagement.
Field of Study
Currently enrolled in post-secondary education (Business, Economics, International Relations, or related field).
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong research and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CRM tools an asset.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Interest in corporate and community partnerships
Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in research and data management.

Working Conditions
Office-based with occasional off-site event support.
Standard business hours with flexibility for event schedules.
Canada Summer Job Eligibility
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
