Job Description
We are searching for an accomplished, inspiring and results-oriented leader to assume the position of Fund Raising and Campaign Manager to oversee and execute the largest capital campaign in the agency’s history. This role is uniquely focused on all aspects of campaign management, cultivating and maintaining relationships with major donors and prospects, community leaders and volunteers.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, Community Engagement and Fund Development, this is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a well-respected social service agency in Calgary. The Manager must be skilled at evaluating and strengthening existing revenue streams for annual, major, and legacy giving, and must have a can-do approach and be willing to provide hands-on support to lead a capital campaign.
Core Purpose of the Job:
Implementation and managing all aspects of a planned capital campaign and other major fund development endeavors in support of Alpha House’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy
Develop, implement, and continuously refine Alpha House’s integrated fund development strategy to meet organizational goals
Develop and implement the capital campaign strategy to raise $6M by 2027
Capital Campaign
Develop and manage prospect lists
Oversee all campaign logistics, including pipeline management, donor tracking and data entry, volunteer support, progress reporting and impact reports
Organize and attend high-impact networking events, compelling cultivation opportunities and initiatives that strengthen community ties with Alpha House
Nurture key donor and prospect relationships to build ties with Alpha House and its mission.
Fundraising
Develop and execute solicitation strategies and prepare grant applications
Serve as a front-line fundraiser, personally securing gifts that expand our mission-based programs, reach and impact.
Oversee a meaningful donor stewardship and recognition program to create a ‘sense of community’ and encourage consistent giving support.
Assist with volunteer coordination for fundraising events. Collaborate with the Volunteer team to coordinate volunteer opportunities for interested donors
Work with Alpha House’s leadership team to build relationships with government contacts
The successful candidate will have:
At least 5 years proven success in managing all aspects of a capital campaign, or other major gift campaign, ideally in a social service agency
Ability to work collaboratively with a small but dynamic team
Tolerant, non-judgmental with a high degree of compassion and empathy towards the unhoused and those struggling with addictions and or mental health
A Class 5 driver’s license and a vehicle that can be used for business purposes
Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation considered an asset.
Proven track record in strategic fundraising planning and execution.
Proficiency in donor databases and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot), with strong skills in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
