SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Camp Operations Supervisor
Term: Full-time Contract (up to 35 hrs./week)
Salary Range: $25 - $30 (Depending on education and experience)
The Camp Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient seasonal operation of Hilly Acres Camp & Trailer Park and Rainbow Lodge, ensuring high-quality guest experiences, properly scheduled and supervised staffing, cost-effective retail and inventory management, and well-coordinated facilities and marina operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations Management:
Oversee daily operations at both sites: housekeeping, front desk, and retail.
Coordinate with Marina/Maintenance Lead on daily operations at both sites: grounds, site maintenance, and marina, launch, and storage.
Customer Service & Guest Support
Provide friendly, professional support to guests, answering questions and resolving concerns related to grounds, marina, and maintenance issues.
Assist guests with reservations, marine docking, marine fuel, campsite operations, and general inquiries.
Staff Scheduling and Supervision:
Prepare weekly schedules based on occupancy forecasts, seasonality, and budgeted labor targets.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to policies.
Conduct on-the-job observations and provide coaching aligned with performance standards.
Financial Controls & Reporting:
Ensure accurate POS entries, cash outs, deposits, and daily reconciliation using Square POS.
Monitor revenue categories: accommodations, marina/fuel, retail, rentals, concessions.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
Maintain vendor list with contract dates, pricing, and performance ratings.
Track inventory through POS; manage ordering cycles and par levels; Conduct weekly stock counts and monthly reconciliations.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Tourism & Hospitality Management, Outdoor Recreation, or Business Administration) is considered an asset
3+ years of experience in hospitality/tourism/campground/marina or similar operations.
1+ year experience supervising staff.
Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly and professional demeanor.
Experience with Square POS and social media platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff and guests and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Working Conditions:
High seasonal demands (summer peak) require evening/weekend work; On-call responsibilities during the operating season.
Travel between two operational sites is required.
