Artech is currently seeking to add to the below position

Job Title: Design Engineer

Job ID: 17-32148

Location: Baltimore MD

Duration: 12 Months contract with possible extension

DESCRIPTION:

· Electrical Utility – able to read electrical drawings, where and how to place them

· Able to read utility electrical drawings

· They need to be strong with design

· Building displays

· Where and how to place links

· Transmission or distribution one line display building experience

· Engineer/drafter that is willing to learn a new design tool and adopt new build methods. Be prepared to unlearn some old habits

· Willing to do a repetitive job with attention to detail

· Electrical background (Ability to interpret electrical one line diagrams, basic knowledge of electrical equipment (switch, line, bus, etc.)

Job Duties:

· Learn the display build application and adapt to its build techniques

· The application layout is similar to Photoshop, application functions are similar to a generic drafting application but the method of performing these functions are unique to the application

· Build One Line schematics in the above application conforming to a pre-decided set of standards and build methods

· Interpret electrical drawings or marked up one lines (simple electrical one line diagrams)

· Manage your work independently without on-site supervision.

· Communicate with supervisors remotely (email, web meetings, etc.), proficient with Windows environment and MS Office

· Access work tracking tool and SharePoint (training will be provided on these applications)
