Role Purpose
Responsible for planning, procurement and management of assigned inventory materials. Assist and support Supply Chain Manager. Maintenance of good working vendor relationships and high standards of professionalism and ethics associated with same. Maintain a high level of service to our internal customers.
Primary Responsibilities
· Issue purchase orders to the supply base in line with actual needs.
· Ensure best price is sought after and is reflected in the ERP system.
· Ensuring the purchasing database is correct and reflects actual needs.
· Manage the day to day scheduling of material from the supply base.
· Issue forecasts on a timely basis in line with agreed frequency and format.
· Manage the issuance of agreed reports and formats to suppliers in line with agreed schedules.
· Manage the supply of information from the supply base in line with agreed time frames.
· Responsible for the return of non-conforming material to the supply base within 24 hours of disposition.
· Scheduling of re-work material to optimise inventory availability and minimise inventory levels.
· Work within defined guidelines to actively reduce Excess / Obsolete Inventory.
· Manage vendor on time delivery, vendor adherence to schedule and agreed processes.
· Rescheduling orders to minimise the inventory in line with actual needs and pre defined goals.
· Own and Drive daily Production meetings with internal customers and supplying information in line with agreed and committed timeframes.
· Meet individual performance goals as identified.
· Participate and drive supplier meetings on an agreed schedule.
· Develop clear production schedules in line with customer demand and lot size allocation.
· Ensure lot size traceability is recorded through full supply chain.
· Support inventory accuracy process with regular cycle counts and reconcile procedures.
· Provide inter departmental support and cover.
· Take on additional duties and projects as assigned by line manager.
Desired Qualification, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5/7 years experience with a proven track record within a manufacturing environment in the electronic industry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Have a minimum of 3/5 years Planning experiences. IIPMM/APICS Certification is desirable.
