The Role

The insurance industry is undergoing rapid change, shaped by new technologies, emerging competitors, evolving regulations, and innovative products. Our Insurance Strategy Consulting teams help clients navigate this complexity, assess competitive dynamics, and capture opportunities for growth.

As a Business & Technology Intern at Capco, you’ll join our exciting insurance consulting practice supporting leading insurers companies across property & casualty, life & health, and other adjacent domains. This internship is designed for students who enjoy problem-solving at the intersection of technology, data, and business strategy. You’ll contribute to both internal initiatives and client engagements, gaining hands on exposure to how modern financial institutions design, transform, and scale platforms and operating models.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to internal initiatives including research, asset development, marketing, and thought leadership to drive new opportunities

• Support complex client engagements across strategy, technology, and operations initiatives within insurance

• Analyze business processes, system architectures, and data flows within insurance environments

• Develop quantitative analyses, dashboards, models, or lightweight prototypes to inform client decisions

• Assist with strategy development, requirements definition, process mapping, and solution design while collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Prepare clear, compelling, and client-ready materials including presentations, summaries, and research outputs

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline

• Recognized for strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to motivate colleagues

• Demonstrated interest in consulting and solving complex business and technology problems with an entrepreneurial drive

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

• Ability to translate technical concepts into practical business insights and vice versa

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment

Bonus Points For

• Interest in insurance, financial services, fintech, or digital transformation

• Exposure to programming, data analysis, visualization tools, or systems/process design

• Experience working on team-based projects or case competitions

• Curiosity about emerging technologies such as cloud, data platforms, or AI

The salary this position is $23/hr to $25/hr (Canadian dollars).
