💙 About Bigblue
E-commerce is booming — but independent brands still struggle to match the seamless logistics of giants like Amazon. At Bigblue, we're on a mission to change that. We help brands by democratizing best-in-class operations: scaling faster while delivering a five-star customer experience.
Since 2018, we've built a tech-driven logistics platform powering 500+ brands — from fast-growing DTC players to global names like MUJI, Aigle, and Cabaïa. With 110+ employees across Paris, Madrid, and London, our proprietary WMS (Warehouse Management System) Atlas, and a network of 7 warehouses across Europe, we're solving logistics challenges that others haven't dared to tackle — making fulfillment faster, smarter, and greener.
Backed by $20+M in funding and trusted by the next generation of e-commerce leaders, we're scaling rapidly — from 10 million orders in 2024 toward ambitious enterprise expansion. The journey ahead is bold, and we're looking for the right partner to help us lead the way.
📊 What data means for Bigblue
At Bigblue, data is the backbone of how we operate. Our data infrastructure — built on BigQuery and dbt, surfaced through Metabase — powers every operational decision: from tracking fulfillment performance across 7 warehouses to monitoring carrier service rates in real time. As we scale across Europe, our BI layer needs to scale with us.
The Ops Excellence team is at the heart of this challenge: translating raw warehouse and transportation data into reliable, structured, and accessible intelligence — so our operators, product teams, and executives can act fast and act right.
🚀 The role:
Location: Paris — 7 rue Caumartin, 75009
Type: End-of-studies internship or gap year (SFE / césure)
Duration: 6 months
Start: ASAP
Bigblue is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer Intern to join the Ops Excellence team.
This is a highly technical role at the intersection of data engineering and analytics. You won't just consume data — you'll help build the infrastructure that makes it accessible, reliable, and actionable for our entire Ops organization. This is a unique opportunity to work on real-scale, production-grade BI systems in a fast-moving logistics startup.
✍️ Our data challenges:
• Data pipeline development: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that consolidate and transform raw warehouse and operational data into clean, structured datasets ready for analysis — using SQL, dbt, and our BigQuery data warehouse.
• Dashboard & reporting infrastructure: Develop scalable BI solutions — datasets, reports, and Metabase dashboards — that give our Ops teams real-time visibility into fulfillment KPIs, warehouse performance, and service levels.
• Data modeling & schema design: Create and manage data structures that are robust, well-documented, and easy for analysts across teams to use — applying best practices in schema design and data governance.
• Automation & process improvement: Write secure, maintainable code that automates recurring reporting tasks and frees our analysts to focus on higher-value work. Identify opportunities to replace manual processes with scalable, engineered solutions.
• Data quality & reliability: Troubleshoot data and pipeline issues, propose solutions, and take ownership of resolutions — ensuring that the numbers our teams rely on are always accurate and up to date.
🙌 Your profile:
• Student in year 4 or 5 of an engineering school, computer science, statistics, or equivalent program
• Strong SQL skills — able to write complex queries, optimize for performance, and model data from scratch
• Familiarity with data engineering tools and concepts: dbt, BigQuery, ETL pipelines, data modeling
• Experience with BI and visualization tools (Metabase, Looker, Power BI, or similar)
• Python or another scripting language is a strong plus
• You think in terms of systems: you care about code quality, reusability, and long-term maintainability
• Curious and rigorous — you go deep to understand the data before trusting it
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment with evolving requirements
• Fluency in English and French
🎁 What we offer:
• 🍽️ Meal: €5 per working day (100% tax-exempt) + free meals at the office twice a week
• 🐻 Health: Alan health insurance, 100% covered
• 🚲 Transportation: Swile card with €42.50/month for transport
• 🛍️ "Buy from our merchants" program: birthday, anniversary & end-of-year gifts from Bigblue brands
• 💰 Compensation: €1,000/month
• Brand new offices in Paris' largest tech hub (9th arrondissement)
• MacBooks as standard, plus any equipment you need to do your best work
