Business Intelligence Analyst

Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position, which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with Medallion Bank is contingent on passing both a background check and maintaining a clean background.

How you will support the team:
 

Responsible for assessing and visualizing the bank’s data, responding to requests for data and reports, and ensuring our business intelligence offerings are reliable and accurate. 

What we are looking for :

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level semantic data models using star and snowflake schema best practices, optimized for performance through effective relationship design, cardinality management, aggregation strategies, and measure tuning.

Develop complex DAX measures and calculated columns to support key lending metrics including, but not limited to, loan origination, portfolio performance, delinquency trends, and charge-off risk indicators.

Build and maintain Power BI dataflows and self-service data models; leverage Power Query to cleanse, transform, and standardize data from multiple source systems.

Partner with business stakeholders across Recreation and Home Improvement lending portfolios — and other Bank departments — to translate analytical needs into clear, actionable reporting solutions.

Serve as a trusted analytical resource as new products are introduced or changes to existing portfolios are evaluated, providing proactive insight and decision support to business leaders.

Publish, manage, and govern datasets, dashboards, and reports within the Power BI Service ecosystem, including workspace maintenance and access management.

Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to align Power BI solutions with enterprise data warehouse architecture and governance standards.

Establish and maintain documentation for data models, DAX logic, dataflows, data dictionaries, and reporting standards to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

Continuously evaluate and implement enhancements to reporting capabilities and operational efficiency within the Power BI platform.
 

Write and interpret SQL queries to extract, validate, and explore data from enterprise source systems in support of reporting and ad hoc analytical needs.

Validate reporting outputs against source systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of published metrics.

Conduct trend analysis, cohort comparisons, and portfolio diagnostics to surface actionable insights across lending products and risk segments.

What you bring:
 

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, statistics, mathematics, or related field preferred. May be substituted with 5+ years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

3+ years of professional experience in analytical roles focused on Power BI

Experience with DAX and M Query

Experience with creating and manipulating relational datasets

Strong understanding of data modeling and analytics friendly data structures

Expertise in building enterprise scale dashboards and reports

Strong SQL proficiency, including complex joins, window functions, and performance optimization

Prior banking/finance experience strongly preferred

Familiarity with Python or R

Cubicle working space with minimal exposure to distractions or environmental hazards.

Some overtime may be required based upon business needs.
