Business Development Manager Europe (m/w/d) Food/Environment/White Biotech

The role: Eurofins Genomics has established over the last years a substantial amount of business in Food field and is starting in Environment field. In order to boost this business and push it to a completely new level, Eurofins Genomics is now reorganizing its approach and is therefore looking for a Business Development Manager to independently drive this initiative. The role combines business development work with classical sales tasks. It leaves a lot of room to explore different avenues and shape the role. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Exploration of the market on conferences and other events Development and implementation of Eurofins Genomics’ Food and Environment market strategy Identification and approach of new prospects Negotiation and closure of deals with existing strategic clients and new clients Manage intercompany business as significant portion of the business is coming from other Eurofins Food and Environment Business Unites Development and maintenance of strong customer connections at various levels in the organization Feedback Business Unit Manager and Sales Director with market insight and participate to sales strategy elaboration

The candidate: The ideal candidate has a high level of energy combined with a solid knowledge about biology and in particular genomics. He or she has collected already some experience in the Food market and is excited to develop this business further for Eurofins Genomics. Seniority and long-term experience in the Food field is a plus, but not mandatory. eDNA knowledge is also an advantage. He or she is excited to build something new, including the willingness to drive everything from developing the necessary marketing material, through establishing a network with key opinion leaders in the industry, to direct sales in the field. The candidate is willing to travel 30% up to 50% of the time across Europe. The candidate is fluent in English; additional language skills in German/French are a plus. He or she has a background in genetics, genomics or other life sciences. Location: The candidate needs to be based in Europe or UK close to an international airport and a well connected train station.
