Role Overview
The Business Development Manager leads Taiga’s strategy and sales across government, military, public sector, NGO, and first responder markets. The role focuses on identifying and converting opportunities where electric powersports and marine vehicles deliver operational advantages, while managing relationships and government procurement processes in collaboration with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a structured government sales strategy aligned with Taiga’s global commercial objectives
Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities within military, defense, public agencies, municipalities, NGOs, and first responder organizations
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and program managers
Represent Taiga in institutional sales discussions, demonstrations, and formal presentations
Lead the full sales cycle for government opportunities
Coordinate cross-functional internal resources to ensure compliant, competitive, and technically accurate submissions
Maintain structured pipeline visibility and forecasting for institutional sales
Evaluate and develop strategic partnerships with defense contractors, system integrators, and local government distributors where appropriate
Support channel partners in navigating government procurement processes
Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to align government initiatives within assigned territories
Monitor regulatory, funding, and procurement trends impacting electrification within public sector fleets
Identify grant programs, environmental incentives, and sustainability initiatives supporting electric adoption
Provide structured feedback to leadership on product adaptations, certifications, and compliance requirements
Coordinate and support field demonstrations and trade events
Work with Aftersales and technical teams to ensure operational readiness and training where required
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience in government, military, or institutional sales and business development
Proven experience managing public sector procurement processes and formal RFP responses
Established network within military, government agencies, NGOs, or first responder organizations
Strong understanding of government contracting frameworks and compliance requirements
Experience selling vehicles, equipment, defense-related systems, or public safety solutions preferred
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to operate independently while coordinating across a matrix organization
Structured, disciplined approach to pipeline management and reporting
