A Day in the Life
Join the Medtronic Robotic Surgical Technologies (RST) team as Business Development Executive and be responsible for leading the adoption of the Hugo™ RAS System across the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region.

This role requires a unique blend of skills; including the ability to build strong partnerships within hospitals, navigate long and complex sales cycles, and consistently identify and win opportunities with passion and persistence. In this role you will partner with colleagues across the Surgical Operating Unit (OU) to drive long term growth and portfolio leverage across the enterprise.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• Develop and implement targeted sales strategies aligned with Medtronic’s goals, focusing on driving adoption and sales growth of the Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) System.
• Engage and influence budget holders and hospital executives through joint development of business cases, including total cost of ownership (TCO) comparisons, cost-per-procedure analyses, and contracting to support informed purchasing decisions for the Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) System
• Create and deliver impactful workshops, system presentations, proposals, and contracts, tailoring content to key decision-makers and emphasising both clinical and economic value of the Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) System
• Partner with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Education, Technical Service, Enterprise Accounts, IT, and Legal) to manage the end-to-end sales process from prospecting through to close, ensuring seamless coordination with customers throughout the sales cycle and post-purchase.
• Identify and prioritise new market opportunities through detailed market analysis, assess competitive activity, and provide accurate sales forecasts to inform strategic decision-making and execution planning.
• Support leading hospitals in enhancing clinical and operational strategies through integration of the Medtronic Hugo™ Surgical Robotic System.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals and hospital leadership to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Close significant contracts and drive successful deal outcomes.
• Track and report sales performance, identifying key drivers of success to continuously refine sales strategies and pipeline health.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of the Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) System to provide expert guidance during demonstrations, training sessions, and customer interactions.
• Spend time in the field, including attending conferences, travelling to meet clients, and conducting demonstrations and presentations.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• Minimum requirement is High school diploma with 8 years relevant experience. Tertiary qualifications are valuable.
• Experience navigating long sales cycles, securing budget approvals, and working with hospital procurement, finance, and executive teams
• Strong understanding of hospital operations, purchasing processes & IT infrastructure
• A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Demonstrated ability manage complex projects, build relationships and engage stakeholders to meet defined outcomes and timelines
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly across NSW/QLD/New Zealand (25-50%)
