Business Architect (Google Cloud)

You are a senior technology professional who takes ownership of solution design and technical decision-making. You enjoy influencing technical direction, shaping scalable architectures, and helping clients translate business needs into concrete, sustainable solutions. You are proactive, analytical, and comfortable operating at the intersection of technology, business, and strategy.

You thrive in discovery-driven environments, communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and take a preventive approach to identifying and mitigating technical risks. You value clarity, documentation, and collaboration, and actively contribute to innovation and continuous improvement.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or solution design role.
• Strong background in software architecture, design patterns, and secure system design.
• Proven experience designing solutions based on microservices and distributed architectures.
• Solid experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, particularly on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong analytical skills to assess technical risks and define preventive mitigation strategies.
• Ability to design and communicate solution architectures through clear technical documentation and diagrams.
• Experience defining non-functional requirements such as scalability, resilience, durability, and disaster recovery.
• Experience evaluating and justifying technical decisions, budgets, and alternative scenarios.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.
• Ability to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and drive innovation within engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of current technology trends and their business impact.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Participate actively in discovery sessions, proposing concrete and scalable technical solutions aligned with client needs.
• Translate discovery discussions into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Assess the client’s current technological landscape and propose modernization strategies aligned with business goals.
• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate technological risks across solutions and implementations.
• Design and document end-to-end solution architectures, including scalability, resilience, security, and disaster recovery considerations.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and solution diagrams for internal and client use.
• Justify architectural decisions and budgets with solid technical and business rationale.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
• Drive innovation initiatives aligned with business objectives and emerging technology trends.
• Ensure effective knowledge distribution across project teams.
• Ensure solutions comply with regulatory requirements and align with client objectives.

 

• Experience designing solutions based on microservices and distributed architectures.
• Strong foundation in software development, design patterns, and security.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
