Job Description
The Ops Business Analyst is key in defining, managing, and implementing changes within the organisation. The Business Analyst must elicit, analyse, refine, validate and formally document business requirements, so that an optimal solution to the requirement can be identified and implemented. For smaller initiatives the Business Analyst will also play the role of Project Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering:
• Elicits requirements from SMEs/ stakeholders, applying effective elicitation methods/ standards/tools.
• Analyses and validates requirements using a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders including the service providers to conduct impact assessment to identify the "as-is" processes, systems, and the "future" processes, systems and structures.
• Performs analysis on reporting and migration data, representing Operations to review impacts to ensure data quality
• Maintains relationships with stakeholders and obtains formal signoff of all requirement documentation.
• Liaises with service providers to ensure understanding of requirements and limitations of solutions.
• Redesign current processes to ensure future business scalability and operating model
• Identify Business risks and ability to implement processes for risk mitigation
• Work with SMEs to support provision of UAT test scripts
• Support UAT testing and review
• Provide Training to Service Provider where required
• Ensure all new procedures are documented and agreed
Solution Assessment and Validation:
• Works closely with the Architecture team to ensure solutions are optimal.
• Facilitates workshops sessions with internal and external stakeholders to drive out solution options and works closely with them to complete solution design documents.
• Supports functional and integration testing.
Change Management and Implementation Support:
• Supports Change Management activities by providing information as required to facilitate effective communications.
• Provides project support to the impacted teams during implementation phases, including testing, test preparation, answering queries, trouble shooting, liaison with service provider, providing regular reporting.
• Contributes to project management processes, including status reporting, risk, issue, change, compliance management.
• For smaller projects acts as the project manager as well as BA to deliver the project.
