Job Description

At Vast, our mission is to contribute to a future where billions of people are living and thriving in space. Vast is developing next-generation space stations to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Using an incremental, hardware-rich and low-cost approach, Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station. Haven Demo’s 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world’s first commercial space station when it launches, followed by additional Haven modules to enable permanent human presence by 2030. Our team is all-in, committed to executing our mission safely and on time. If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.

Vast is looking for a Business Analyst, reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager, to support the development of the systems required for the design and build of artificial-gravity, human-rated space stations.

• Conduct ad hoc technical, financial, and operational analyses to inform program and leadership decision-making

• Act as an analytical point of contact across engineering, finance, supply chain, and program leadership to ensure alignment on scope, priorities, and constraints

• Track program status, risks, and dependencies; synthesize inputs into clear, executive-ready updates

• Prepare concise presentations and written materials for engineering leadership, finance, and executive stakeholders

• Support resource planning efforts to ensure engineering programs are adequately staffed and sequenced

• Establish and maintain standardized reports and dashboards to improve visibility into program health

• Identify inefficiencies in existing tools, processes, or reporting and drive improvements in partnership with stakeholders

• Maintain clear documentation, notes, and assumptions to ensure continuity and transparency across teams

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical or analytical field

• 2+ years of experience in analytical, technical program support, operations, or project-based roles

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including the ability to build structured models and analyze complex datasets

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously

• Strong attention to detail with a track record of delivering accurate, well-structured work

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience supporting engineering, hardware, manufacturing, or R&D organizations

• Engineering background strongly preferred

• Familiarity with program or project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project, Confluence)

• Ability to synthesize technical and financial inputs into clear insights for leadership

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior technical leaders

• Experience working in aerospace, manufacturing, or other highly technical, capital-intensive environments

• Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

• Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
