Required Skills
Job Description
We’re looking for a Business Analyst who is structured, fast-learning, and experienced working with engineering teams to deliver complex software. You will own the repossession domain for clients we work with, mapping the operational lifecycle of repossession cases and producing engineering-ready functional specifications. What matters is that you learn fast, ask the right questions, and write specifications that developers can build from without ambiguity.
What You’ll Do
Domain Discovery: Rapidly absorb the domain through structured learning and SME workshops.
Functional Specification: Own the operational layer of all functional specs.
Cross-Domain Collaboration: Work closely with other Product Owners and Business Analysts.
Engineering Partnership: Attend Engineering Intake Sessions for every story in your domain. Respond to developer Functional Inquiries within agreed SLAs. Attend mid-sprint build walkthroughs to verify implementation against specification.
QA Alignment: Co-author acceptance criteria for every story. Support QA in designing client-specific rule test scenarios. Script operational UAT scenarios.
Required Qualifications
4+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst on software development or system integration projects.
Demonstrated ability to produce unambiguous functional specifications, business rules, state machine documentation, decision tables, or field mapping, that engineering can build from directly.
Agile/Scrum experience, backlog grooming, sprint-ready story writing, and acceptance criteria authoring.
Workshop facilitation skills, you can run a discovery session with a domain expert and leave with structured, actionable outputs.
Learning agility, a demonstrated example of picking up a new industry domain quickly and delivering quality BA work within it.
Strong written communication, precise, logical, minimal back-and-forth to understand.
Comfort working with engineering teams, you understand what a developer needs from a spec and can engage constructively on data models and API contracts without being a developer yourself.
Nice to Have
Experience in financial services, lending, collections, or asset management, adjacent industries with similar lifecycle and AR/AP complexity.
Familiarity with API concepts (REST, request/response payloads, field mapping) at the level needed to review and validate an API contract.
Exposure to rule engine or workflow automation projects.
Experience with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io or equivalent).
Familiarity with data profiling, comparing source system fields, identifying gaps, and documenting data quality issues.
What We Offer:
Competitive compensation and benefits.
Opportunity to work on US-based enterprise engagements.
Clear growth path into Senior Delivery / Program Management roles.
Collaborative and high-ownership work culture.
Exposure to modern cloud and Agile delivery environments.
