JOB OVERVIEW
The Business Analyst plays a critical role in supporting application development initiatives by connecting business needs with technical solutions. This position reports to the Business Solutions Lead and works closely with business users, IT developers, and support teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined, processes are well understood, and solutions are delivered effectively. The Business Analyst contributes to system optimization, process improvement, and documentation efforts that enhance operational efficiency across Eurofins laboratories and business units.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
This role includes a strong focus on the Data Driven analytics solution, supporting data‑driven decision‑making through requirements definition, reporting needs, and analytical insights.
• Coordinate cross application development and deployment projects.
• Translate business requirements into actionable software solution designs, assessing complexity and recommending simplification where appropriate.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business users, IT developers, and support teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Gather and validate requirements through interviews, document and system analysis, workshops, process reviews, use cases, and scenario development.
• Support process and concept redesign initiatives to improve alignment and efficiency of IT solutions.
• Ensure systems and solutions are used effectively and in accordance with best practice standards.
• Partner with key users, lab managers, and business unit leaders to guide proper use of Eurofins systems.
• Conduct gap analyses and produce detailed functional specifications for both common and segment specific modules.
• Document business processes and workflows, and evaluate how IT solutions can best support them.
• Collaborate with module and project owners to define required functionality or enhancements and provide informed recommendations.
• Break down complex, cross application business requirements into well scoped user requirements and assess the impact of proposed changes.
• Develop user documentation and deliver training to power users.
• Assist in defining high level project scope, deliverables, and milestones.
 
Education
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
Experience/Skills
• Only current employees of the Eurofins US Food Testing Division eligible to apply.
• 2+ years of experience as a business analyst, programmer analyst, software test analyst, and/or QA analyst.
• 2+ years of combined technical and functional business experience.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience or equivalent.
• Any combination of the above will be considered.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to communicate clearly with business users, understand their needs, and propose solutions in collaboration with solution architects.
• Ability to work with both technical teams and leadership to resolve issues and meet business objectives.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to lead initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management abilities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
• Strong interest in IT solutions and related technologies.
• Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
• Proficiency in capturing process flows and business requirements.
• Laboratory experience and knowledge.
• IT experience is a plus.
