As a Business Analyst – Equity Swaps, you will support a Global Markets Equity Swaps programme, working closely with Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams. The role focuses on understanding business requirements, ensuring front-to-back alignment, and supporting the delivery of strategic and regulatory initiatives related to equity derivatives.
You will provide ongoing BAU support and contribute to continuous improvements across the end-to-end Equity Swaps lifecycle, with operational coverage aligned to US business hours (11:00–20:00 Spanish time).
Key responsibilities include:
• Partner with Trading and Sales teams to understand business priorities and Equity Swaps requirements.
• Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements across the full trade lifecycle.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Support the definition and maintenance of target operating models for Equity Swaps.
• Coordinate with Risk, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to ensure alignment with control and regulatory frameworks.
• Perform impact analysis for regulatory, business, and technology-driven changes.
• Validate data outputs, reports, and reconciliations from a business perspective.
• Support User Acceptance Testing, including scenario definition, execution support, and business sign-off.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation to reduce operational risk and increase efficiency.
• Act as the main liaison between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams.
• Facilitate workshops and working groups across Global Markets functions.
• Support programme governance by tracking risks, dependencies, and business readiness.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Global Markets or Investment Banking.
• Strong knowledge of Equity Swaps and equity derivatives products.
• Solid understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle and operating models.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in English.
• Experience working in regulated environments with robust control frameworks (desirable).
• Exposure to regulatory initiatives impacting equity derivatives (desirable).
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Technical awareness of system integrations (APIs, SFTP, queues such as Kafka or Tibco).
• Basic understanding of network connectivity concepts (IPs, Firewalls, NATs).
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and control orientation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in global teams with a proactive, delivery-focused approach.
• Desirable experience using AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot.
